EU INNOVATION ASSOCIATE GRANT

Cercare Medical ApS received a grant from the European Union for funding the recruitment of an Innovation Associate for 12 months aimed at research in decision support systems.

The project runs from October 1st 2017 to September 30th 2018 and is expected to greatly impact the guidance of the future product portfolio.

EU SME PHASE 1 GRANT

Cercare Medical ApS received a grant from the European Union for funding a feasibility study on the development and route to marketing of the Cercare Medical decision support solutions for acute ischemic stroke.

The project runs from February 1st 2017 to October 1st 2017 and lays the ground for the future development of the product portfolio.

At Cercare Medical ApS we are grateful for the prestigious grant rewarded to less than 10% of applicants.

2008

Prototype Algorithm Developed

In 2008 the first prototype algorithm identifying hypoperfused tissue in MRI perfusion images was implemented with funding from a $4.5 million USD grant from the 6th EU Framework Programme. The developers aimed to match lesion identification by expert stroke physicians by balancing hemodynamic markers of ischemia with physiologically plausible lesion propagation.

2009

Technology Optimisation

The optimization was done in close collaboration with expert stroke physicians from Aarhus University Hospital and leading European stroke centers participating in the multicenter IKnow consortium. A historically large grant of $24 million USD from the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation for the interdisciplinary MINDLab at Aarhus University secured economic basis for validating the technology in a large patient cohort with over 220 individuals.

With four independent expert evaluations individual rater variations can be reduced and a consensus can be obtained. With the developed technologies we obtained unparalleled agreement with the expert consensus regions.
