Marit Salte is, since March 2024, CEO of the Smedvig Family Office (SFO).
Prior to that and since 2005, she was CFO of the Smedvig Family Office (SFO). She was also CFO and Compliance Officer for Smedvig Investment Management AS (SIM) from 2007 to 2012, contributing to establishing SIM as an investment manager regulated by the Norwegian FSA. Between 2002 and 2005, she was Finance Manager for Smedvig. She holds several board positions in companies within the Smedvig Family Office and in companies where Smedvig has invested, both in the UK, Denmark, and Norway.
Marit Salte has been a member of the Board of Statkraft from 2020 until June 2024. Statkraft is owned by the Norwegian state and is Europe’s largest supplier of renewable energy and a global company in energy market operations. Earlier board positions include Green Mountain (datacenter business sold to Azrieli in 2021), Navtor (e-navigation business sold to AKKR in 2020), and DSD (Stavanger-based family office with large investments in mobility and health care). Current Board positions include Ydalir Foundation (Chair from July 2023), Veni AS (It & Tech) and a role as an Investment Advisor for Sparebankstiftelsen SR-Bank, a foundation holding a large ownership position in one of Norway’s largest banks.
The Smedvig Family Office has offices in Stavanger and London with total assets under management of over USD 2 billion.
