MRI Biomarkers in Ischemic Stroke: From Signal to Treatment

Join us for a focused webinar on the role of MRI biomarkers in acute ischemic stroke, designed for clinicians and imaging specialists involved in stroke care.

Summary of Presentation
MRI Biomarkers of Ischemic Stroke: From Signal to Treatment offers a practical approach to acute-phase brain MRI in cerebral infarction, detailing differential diagnoses and the key biomarkers influencing therapeutic decisions (core, penumbra, occlusion), notably derived from diffusion, FLAIR, and perfusion sequences. The dependence of certain biomarkers on acquisition parameters and post-processing software will also be discussed.
Event Details:
  • Date: 24 February 2026
  • Time: 18:00-19:00 CET
  • Format: Online Webinar
  • Language: French
  • Speaker: Dr. Julien Savatovsky, Neuroradiologist
    Head of Medical Imaging Department
    Fondation Rothschild, Paris
Why Attend?
  • Gain a clear, practical understanding of MRI biomarkers used in acute ischemic stroke
  • Learn how diffusion, FLAIR, and perfusion imaging inform treatment decision

CLINICAL USE CASES AND TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS

CLINICAL USE CASES
  • Directly impacts the patient treatment pathway, both intra- and post-intervention.
  • Assess outcomes post-intervention: detect missed stenoses, distal occlusions, or microvascular disturbances.
  • Guide complementary therapies on the spot based on perfusion status.
  • May detect the no-reflow phenomenon — providing insight into cases where recovery may fail despite successful thrombectomy.
  • Potentially enables direct-to-angio workflows.

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • Full set of perfusion markers: CBF, CBV, MTT.
  • Advanced oxygen metabolism imaging: OEF, CMRO₂.
  • Most reliable results with 10 CBCT acquisitions.
  • Vendor-agnostic platform.
