He will further present how next-generation perfusion imaging maps are providing novel insights into the pathophysiology of both cSVD and Alzheimer's disease (AD), highlighting their potential to advance our understanding of disease mechanisms and improve imaging-based assessment.

Prof. Leif Østergaard is a leading expert in brain perfusion and imaging at Aarhus University. He has pioneered advanced MRI techniques that support clinicians in understanding and managing conditions such as stroke and dementia.

With research experience from Harvard Medical School, he has authored more than 175 scientific publications and was awarded the prestigious Danish Lassen Prize in recognition of his contributions to brain research.
